66 Bitsa
Project By: Mike McGeachy (MikeM@Peridotcorp.com)

Click To EnlargeThis started as a 1966 Scrambler purchased new by my father from Brooks Cyclery in San Jose. The bike has been everything from a hill climber to a desert racer to a commuter bike. Erv Kanamoto ported a Diana head for the bike back in 1967.

I restored the bike to a 1966 Café racer style. NOS parts were found from literally all over the world. Akront rims came from Canada, the Betor front forks were from a Montessa found in a barn in Livermore, rebuilt by Lindemans. The motor was built by Syds and the wheels were laced with custom SST spokes by Kelly Moss in San Jose. Front brake in an early Honda road racing item. All brackets and fab were done by myself, rear sets, linkage and such all have needle bearings. The tank is a hand built carbon fiber replica of an R3 version I saw from a picture. The paint was done by Daneen Custom Airbrush.

Customizing, Forced induction systems (turbocharging, supercharging, nitrous oxide, etc.), drag racing, road racing and driving a motor vehicle are ALL inherently dangerous and should never be taken lightly. Forced induction systems and racing will shorten your vehicle mechanical life and increase your risk of serious accidents.
